Guild Wars 2 in Tyria
What's new in Tyria?
An earthquake of incredible amplitude made the realm of Orr appear from tides. Then, a tidal wave caused by one of the ancient dragons. Waves of an inconceivable height flooded all the coast of Kryta, including Lion's Arch. The inhabitants had to take refuge farther in lands. It seems that the ancient city serves as base of operation for the bandits today. As for the Kingdom of Orr, this one is at the moment in the hands of the ancient dragon which caused this new cataclysm, with an army of living-dead under its orders.
Let us pass now in an important event, that of a new race: Sylvaris.
Sylvaris were born in a completely special way. I always had a certain affection for these people, even if the wise men recommend not to approach them. Everything began when Ronan, a human soldier separated from his patrol, discovered a cave filled with strange seeds. Hardly had he the time to collect one that he was attacked by huge plants. Wishing to make present to his daughter, he hurried to return at him. He discovered while his village had been destroyed by Mursaats and his family had been massacred. He planted the seed on the still smoking ruins of the village and swore to return no never to the fight. Ventari, a peaceful centaur whose faith declined, made friends with Ronan and eventually joined him in his haven of peace. The tree quickly became a symbol of tranquillity and harmony, growing on the ruins of the former slaughter. After the death of Ronan, the centaur felt his death was fast approaching. He put himself in head to engrave his major principles on a tablet, hoping that somebody takes back ambassador's torch of the peace when he would not be any more. His most dear wish was listened to, but probably not by the way he understood it. In the course of the years following the death of Ventari, the tree did not stop growing. A beautiful day, cocoons began to form in the point of branches and eventually hatched by giving birth to a quite new race. The born first ones, by opening eyes, “drank” principles written on the tablet of stone put at feet of the tree. It is also necessary to know that Sylvaris are already adults and capable of speaking after to be gone out of their cocoon. Obviously, we know the race of Sylvaris today even if it remains completely mysterious and contained enough on itself. But I often ask this question: if Charrs, or quite other harmful creature, had managed to replace the tablet of Ventari by violent rules, lauding the death and the lie? I don’t dare to think what would have happened...
But let us pass, do you know a little the way of functioning of Sylvaris? All be born from the same tree, have no family strictly speaking, no children, nor really brothers and sisters. They are however interconnected by something which is difficult to comprehend for us the other humans. They call up it the Dream of dreams. They communicate with the internal spirit common to their race and learn to walk in a short time, as well as for the other basic actions. These beings are admirable. They have the innocence of the youth. They don’t still understand the world which surrounds them, nor the dangers which wait for them in every bend. And nevertheless, I heard to tell that their Dream of the dreams contains more and more nightmares, even if the poor creatures don’t still know the reason. I have the impression that they can’t remain neutral in the events which are preparing.
By the way, what became Ascalonians?
Rin fell to the hands of Charrs, Ascalon was taken by assault. It was probably the most bitter defeat for the Humans to this day. This place of strategic importance was the symbol of the human nation, an impregnable fortress. It fell however to the hands of the enemy.
But old King Adelbern wasn’t able to be resolved to leave Ascalon with Charrs. While the streets of the city were filled with human corpses and while the victory of Charrs was imminent, the legend wants that Adelbern climbed on the highest tower of the city and brandishes his magic sword, Magdaer. In an instant, the human souls killed in the fight appeared and chased after the invaders. Charrs, powerless in front of these ghosts returned from beyond the grave, had to abandon Ascalon. The cursed city, year after year, eventually colonizes by quite other strength, the nature. Forests, animals and flowers took back their rights there. We tell that Ascalon is today still protected by the ghosts of the troops of Adelbern. I have difficulty in believing it but I would like to go over there more than everything to the world. Divinity Coast, my place
of birth that I have never left, welcomed newcomers of the humans in Kryta, displeases me excessively.
Centaurs' attacks make more and more frequent and we can’t travel any more without an armed escort. The White Mantle seem to have a more and more striking influence, certainly because of the fact of the desperate situation. Do people forget so fast the lessons of past? Who has not ever taught Saul d' Alessio's story to the school? If the White Mantle take back the power in Kryta, I will leave it for Ascalon.
Still let us change subject, there are two other important races which will play enormously on the future of the Men and which begin to have also problems … You understood it, they are Norns and Charrs.
Norns weren’t spared by the events of these last decades. Faithful to themselves, they care hardly about problems of the other races as long as it doesn’t come to hinder their tranquillity nor their lands of hunting. Even Charrs which haven’t got known allies leave aside them. It would seem that these two races respect themselves mutually by the fact that each bases their society on the strength. Gunnar's Hold fell to the hands of creatures of ices, forcing Norns to migrate southward, in an ancient abandoned dwarf territory. As for Charrs, I have difficulty speaking about them with
objectivity. Their society having been worsened by the decline of the Titans, their false Gods, there was a long period of anarchy and disorganization before the institution of a new military dictatorship. The shamans are relegated at the moment to the lowest rank of the society. The dream of every Charr is to annihilate the Men of the surface of the world. Their hatred for our race is visceral.
These animals control four gigantic fortresses controlled by so many Legions: Ash Legion, Blood Legion, Flame Legion and Iron legion. Charrs
always remains steered by their Khan-Ur, the supreme leader.
Then, to finish on those of whom we know about it least about the recent events are Asuras. All that I know, it is that Asuras colonized sub-grounds formerly occupied by the dwarfs. They put their portals at disposal of the other races to facilitate the trades. They avoid the conflicts as much as possible.
Here is for Tyria, so I invite you to click on continuation to know the recent events of the other continents.
