What happens on Cantha?
Usoku, the emperor of the celestial kingdom who took the succession of Kisu, led the nation with an iron hand. He developed enormously his military capacity and annexed the people of Luxons as well as Kurzicks by the strength. Those who didn’t share the vision of an empire finally reunited took refuge in Tyria or in Elona.
Then the tidal wave arrived. The ancient dragon which made re-appear the archipelago of Orr of the sea flooded the base of the corsairs which was on small secondary islands. It formed its army of zombies with corsair’s corpses and used them to make the sea impracticable. Living-dead corsairs are sailing henceforth seas up to the islands of fire, make the contact between Tyria and Cantha impossible.
But some refugees from Cantha who succeeded in avoiding the enemy fleet tell terrible stories on what is be hatched on their native land, and are the only proof that we have that there are still humans on this continent.
How is the situation on Elona?
Everything began after the defeat of Varesh and Abaddon. After some years of relative peace, where Sunspears took back their activities of defenders of the Good on the whole of Elona, the order was caught up soon by its past. Sunspears had become allied to Palawa Joko to win against Abaddon and it quickly turned around against them. Once Palawa had got back to all the strength of his big period against Turaï Ossa, he raised an army of living-dead and conquered Elona in few time. He caused the drought and famine to Vabbi in hijacking the Elon River. The province didn’t take a long time surrendering for its survival. The north part of Kourna was also touched by the famine. The riots for the hunger continual forced Kournans to abandon also. Istan, powerless because of its size, was annexed.
Always so cruel, Palawa Joko made pursue all the
descendants of Turaï Ossa, his sworn enemy. He attributed them an army of alive and enjoyed reliving the battle which caused its defeat, only this time, it is him who triumphed. Today, I don’t still understand why Sunspears let live such a creature. Probably to avoid the dishonor to kill the one who had helped them. We see where their pride led them.
Sunspears were pursued and exterminated. Their fortresses sackings and chased everywhere, the survivors had to do forgot them to the rest of population, hiding to escape their tragic fate. They were soon forgotten as the generations went along and some descendants of this order became philosophers or solitary warriors. Other Sunspears were corrupted by Palawa Joko and pursued in turn their former brothers.
Order of Whispers, faithful to itself, decided to act in an enigmatic way. They were the first ones to discover that the ancient dragons were back. Rather than to announce it to a population which wouldn’t believe them, they sent numerous members on all Tyria, trying to convert a maximum of persons to their Order by warning them of the imminent threat.
They succeeded all the same in saving an inestimable quantity of parchments and manuscripts during the tidal wave which destroyed Lion's Arch. Only memories of past period, they are now protected by monks' order in kryptan Northern Shiverpeaks.
And the Zaishen on their Battle Isles?
The Battle Isles were completely submerged by the tidal wave caused by the emersion of Orr. We don’t really know what are became Zaishen. Some legends speak about a new portal towards the Hall of Heroes which would have opened in Lion's Arch. And if the bandits who live to the Arch found a way to go there?
Conclusion:
The world is again at war. The history is constantly repeating itself. We are thousands to have been enlisted to inflate the human armies. But more than the number, people wait for heroes. Heroes capable of changing the disastrous fate which waits for us. Most of people think that it will be about a descendant of the former heroes because it is the fate of its lineage. And nevertheless, I have difficulty in believing it. I don’t feel capable of arriving there. We leave to the fight next week, and only Dwayna knows if I shall return there living...
