Prophecies: the Researchers of the Flame were found

All the magic formerly offered to the creatures of Tyria by the Gods was removed from them and channelled in an enormous stone. Itself was divided into 5 parts. So, the magic remained useful by every creature but never a destructive power could be established as formerly, unless gathering the five stones. The Gods confided the protection of the Bloodstones to the humans. The peace was found but temporarily. The first human guilds made their appearance and some quickly took an enormous influence. The war of the guilds which followed was provocated by the eruption of the volcano where the Bloodstones were gathered. The explosion was of such a scale as stones are scattered in four corners of Tyria today.
The influence of the power of the nations of Ascalon, Kryta and Orr being powerless in front of Guilds, the wars tore to pieces the human race, making thousands of victims in the collection of the power of the Bloodstones.
An unexpected event ended the Wars of Guilds. For reasons then unknown, an army of Charrs come from North arrived on human territory, killing everything on its passage. This event forced the humans to become allied against a new threat. Ascalon did not delay falling when Charrs found a means to destroy the Big Rampart, the known event later under the name of the Searing.
Kryta, as for it, was saved by a man named Saul d' Alessio, who concludes a pact with new divinities which he called the Unseen Ones. Of their real name Mursaats, these creatures helped the humans to push away Charrs from Kryta. But who are really these Mursaats and what did they urged them to help the humans?
Orr, on its peninsula assailed by Charrs, could not resist. To face the threat, the councillor of the King of Orr, certain Vizier Khilbron, read a cursed manuscript and activated a cataclysm of an unprecedented scale. Orr was completely destroyed and there is today nothing of the proud city of Arah.
