Looney Tunes...years of history !

• In the very beginning, Looney Tunes and Merry Melodies worked together in the same studios but even if they produced animated shorts, they were also different, Merry melodies produced in colors whereas Looney tunes shorts were in black and white from 1934 to 1943.

• In 1930, Warner Bros. became interested in Looney tunes in order to promute its own music. This was the creation of the first major Looney Tunes's character, Bosko, debuting in the short " Sinkin' in the bathtub". During the next few years, this black and white short had been a success to the Looney tunes company. In 1937, Daffy Duck was reveled to the audimat and then Bugs Bunny in 1940.


• The first animated short were produced in color in 1943, and the Looney Tunes company began to have more and more success. Since the target audience was mostly children, the creators decided to remove all extreme violence, ethnic and racial stereotypes and curse words frome all the scenes.

• The original Looney Tunes theatrical series ran from 1930 to 1969, the characters were animated on a black and white background but the graphics were improved during the 70's, such as the theme musics.
